1. PC USERS: How do I download AND install a manpaper from your site onto my PC?

A. Select the manpaper image you'd like on your desktop by clicking the thumbnailed (small) image which loads the full-size image in a new browser window.
B. Once the manpaper image is completely loaded, RIGHT-click on the center of the image, giving you a pull-down menu.
C. Select from the menu "Set as Wallpaper". THAT'S IT! (In Windows 95/98 the file will automatically be saved in C:/Windows as either "Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp" or "Netscape Wallpaper.bmp")

NOTE: Desktop images on the PC must be in a .bmp format. If you'd like to download multiple desktops in one session and save them in a directory on your C:/Windows drive - you can either open them up again in a browser window from the directory and repeat the above instructions, or convert them to BMP's using a program like Microsoft Paint or Paint Shop Pro.

2. MAC USERS: How do I download and install a manpaper from your site onto my MAC?

A. Select the manpaper image you'd like on your desktop by clicking the thumbnailed (small) image which loads the full-size image in a new browser window.
B. Once the manpaper image is completely loaded, HOLD-click on the center of the image, giving you a pull-down menu. (a "HOLD"-click is clicking the mouse and holding on the button for half a second until a menu appears)
C. Select from the menu "Save Image As..." and save the image in a folder on your hard drive.
D. From your Apple Menu (in the top left of your monitor) select Control Panels > Appearance
E. From the Appearance window, click the "Desktop" tab. You will see a window to the left displaying your current picture or pattern, and a list of patterns and two buttons to the right.
F. Click "Place Picture", Find the image on your hard drive and click "Choose".
G. Once the image appears in the left window, click "Set Desktop" and close the Appearance menu.

NOTE: For larger or smaller monitors, use the "Scale to Fit" command from the pull down menu of the Appearance menu.

NOTE: If you already have an image on your desktop, you must click "Remove Picture" before the "Place Picture" button will appear.

SPECIAL FEATURE: As a little know feature on the MAC, users can drag an entire folder of images onto the picture window of the Appearance Control Panel. After clicking "Scale to Fit" and "Set Desktop", on each restart, the computer will randomly select an image from the folder. Download tons of manpapers and put them in one folder - and get a surprise on each restart!

3. You don't you have my screen size (640x480 or 1024x768), can I still use your manpapers?

YES... YES... YES! By making all the images at a consistent size of 800x600 rather than all 3 sizes some wallpaper sites do, this allows me to make more of what you like... manpapers! I currently have my 17" MAC (Sony) monitor set at 1280x960 resolution and they look great!

PC USERS: In your Control Panel for Properties, you can find the Screensaver > Background area - you should see a command for Scale to Fit somewhere in there. (you can tell that I still have to ask my buddy who had a PC... to verify.)

MAC USERS: From your Appearance control panel (see FAQ #2) you can choose from the menu "Scale to Fit" and use manpapers for any size of monitor... Sweet!

4. Where did you get these pictures - who owns them? Copywrite?

The images used to make manpaper.com have come from all over the Web; Sites made my people like you, dedicated to great looking men. Even though I have cropped, shadowed, de-blemished, and colored them to my heart's content, I do not own them and their owners retain their original copywrite. Because of that, I add the following:

DO YOU OWN THE COPYWRITE ON ONE OF THE IMAGES CONTAINED ON MANPAPER.COM?: Please send proof of ownership to me here and I will either give appropriate credit on the wallpaper images or remove them at your request.

6. Why manpaper.com? Who created this site?

So it all started when one of my friends got me addicted to making new desktops... pretty soon I noticed that I started to have a collection of dozens of desktops and changing them every day. (Yeah, like my underwear) So I thought I would share! With the snowball effect in full action, the site will continue to grow and grow. So check back!

Who am I? [blush] Thanks for asking! My name is Jake, I'm a 29 yr old guy who lives in Utah. Yeah I know... Utah? But unless you've lived here, you don't know what an awesome place it is! - Mountain Biking on the slick-rock in Moab, Hiking up tree-filled canyons on the Wasatch Front, Snowboarding the powder of the "Greatest Snow on Earth, spending awe inspiring moments in some of the most beautiful National Parks on Earth, and so forth. I'm 6'0, 145lbs, clean-cut, boy-next-door with brown hair and green eyes (which sometimes change color)... a REAL cutie... and a gay male (sorry boys, I'm taken). As a graphic designer and Web consultant by trade, I have worked mostly for advertising agencies, small design shops, and large dot com's. I love to travel, spend time outdoors, take my dog on long hikes, spend time with friends having new adventures, and yes of course - spending time building new Web sites (trying this whole HTML thing). You're welcome to drop me a note at my email here. (If all of that wasn't information enough)... [giggles]... Thanks!

7. I'm hooked! Where can I get more?

There are several good sites around the Web that have manpapers (wallpapers of the male variety), check out my LINKS page to find these. If you know of any others, feel free to email me and let me know.

8. I'm a pretty hot guy... can you make a manpaper out of me?

You BET! I need the image(s) to be pretty good in quality... I'll let you know if it isn't... but at least 500/600 pixels in height or width (largest dimention of image) and a pretty good view of you. You must be prepared to share. :) Sharing is a good thing - remember pre-school? I plan on adding a section in the future containing all of these images sent in by cute guys from the Web. (Girls, send in your boyfriends, he, he,) I can add your email and name to the image if you'd like as well. Send them to me at info@manpaper.com and oh... try not to send files much larger than 1.2 MG. (.JPG, .BMP, .PCT, .PSD files are all good.)
